About
Sàimh Sound, (pronounced “sife sound,”) is a sonic and visual arts collective, focussed on exploring the cultural and natural heritage of Scotland through sound, photography, film and ambient music. Inspired by nature writers like Nan Sheperd and Robert MacFarlane, Sàimh Sound intends to create powerful meditations on the solace that is to be found in Scottish wildness and relay stories and legends that have been lost or neglected by the history books, with particular focus on historical decolonisation. The project will also focus on the delicate nature of Scottish eco-systems and draw from the perpetual angst felt by its founders around the growing threat from climate change.
